About Us

Sonanu was born out of a need to create a space where one can simply be. Without urgency, without noise, without the pressure to respond. We create music that doesn’t fill time — it lets time flow. In a world of constant movement, sound can be a point of grounding — when it’s crafted with care, intention, and balance.

Our music is not a genre, not a trend, and not just background. It’s a form of presence. Each track is a slow-unfolding structure, leaving space to breathe. We work with soft-depth tones and forms that focus not on layering but on harmony. Sonanu is an invitation to be in silence, accompanied by sound.

There are only two of us behind this. Ethan Rivers handles acoustic engineering: he selects instruments, balances frequencies, and shapes the structure of the compositions. His experience comes from years of working with sound in different spaces — from intimate studios to open settings. For him, every second of sound is a responsibility to the listener.

Daniel Mercer takes care of editing, mixing, and the final polish. His task is to remove the excess and preserve dynamic cohesion. He works with duration, rhythm, and texture to keep each composition open yet directed.

We’re not aiming to impress or astonish. We aim to build a reliable sound environment for those who need a little less noise. Our tracks are suited for different times of day — morning, afternoon, evening, or night. They don’t dictate how you should feel — they simply exist alongside you.

Sonanu is not about complexity. It’s about clarity and flow. About that moment when the unnecessary fades, and all that’s left is a gentle sound.
